I got back last week from 3 weeks of work in Seoul with Mimi. We were invited by IP Lab to give a set of workshops about Physical Computing, and we also thew in a bit of VVVV. We also had the opportunity to spend some time on a new project of our own. Check out the videos:

Chicago’s Sonnenzimmer is a collaboration between Nick Butcher and Nadine Nakanishi. Part print shop, part art studio, part design firm, Sonnenzimmer approaches every job with a steady and and a unique eye. Their unusual style–a mix between handmade color play and the less-is-more aesthetic of Swiss modernism–has built a small but dedicated following to the studio. In this Shoestring portrait, Nick and Nadine talk about the the power of collaboration, the struggle to break even, and the importance of independence.

This really impressed me today. It reminded me very much of Johnny Chung Lee‘s work , in terms of making easy to understand fantastic visual technologies, mostly by modifying existing ideas to make them more accesible and useful.
